Easter and April Photoshoot 9 Months

April 11, 2021

Somebunny is 9 months!!! Quincy is crawling, exploring, and climbing constantly. She is a ball of energy, and her parents are trying their best to keep up! She has started saying syllables, like “da-da”, even though they are just random ramblings right now. She knows what she wants and is learning to express her dismay in fits. One could say her personality is more and more like her mom’s everyday. We love our little mini-me!!!

Quincy’s bunny romper (https://amzn.to/2QdjogM), bow (https://amzn.to/3uFj3m0) , and shoes (https://amzn.to/3wNsuSg) are from Amazon. Her socks were from Carter’s. The fur rug (https://amzn.to/3d9gUsL) was purchased in Amazon. We took this picture on the grass in my grandparents backyard. We used to have Easter at their house every year. This was the first Easter without both of them, so I was extremely happy to take some photos here. I took this photo kneeling on the ground a few feet away from Quincy.

For this photo, we added a wicker basket my mother had at her house. We placed the fur rug behind Quincy for support, and we put a blanket on her legs. This allowed for the Easter Eggs to show on top. The Easter eggs were purchased from Party City. We added a tulle bow to the basket to make it a little more festive. I took this photo on my knees while my mom tried to have Quincy focus on the camera instead of the enticing eggs in front of her.

In this photo, we took away the fur blanket and the basket. We wanted a more simplified look. I put some bunny ears on Quincy that I got from the Dollar Tree, and I gave her a carrot I bought at Albertsons. She probably would have enjoyed nibbling and gnawing on that carrot all day. I took this photo on my knees as well.

Quincy is definitely teething which means everything goes in her mouth. I placed the Easter Eggs all around her. They were extremely tempting, and she immediately wanted to roll over, play with the eggs, and put them in her mouth. It took me and my mom constantly wrangling her and putting her back into place to finally get this picture. It was exhausting! The pictures on her back were the hardest to get this time around because of her curious nature and desire to crawl and sit up. I took this picture on my knees with the camera zoomed in on her face.

Lastly, we have the monthly milestone blanket picture. The blanket was purchased off of Etsy. The milestone marker was a DIY with materials bought at Michaels. I made it with artificial eucalyptus leaves, floral wire, and a wooden embroidery hoop. I took this photo by standing over Quincy, without getting my feet in the frame, and pointing the camera directly down. Overall, I am in love with how these photos turned out. I cannot believe my little one is already 3/4 of a year old! Time is passing by so quickly! Happy April and Happy Easter everyone!

Easter 2021

This Easter was spent mostly traveling. From 12:30 AM PST to 4:45 PM PST, we were traveling from Orlando, Florida to Orange County, California (16 hours). The reason we were traveling for so long is that we missed our flight and had to wait 4 hours for the next one. We did not anticipate how busy the Orlando Airport was going to be at 4:30 AM Florida Time. I thought it was going to be a ghost town, but it was packed!Missing our flight was extremely inconvenient because we had our 8 month old, and we were going to miss all of Easter. Instead of arriving at 10:00 AM, we arrived at 3:45 PM in Los Angeles.

Then, we had to drive an hour to my parents house in Orange County. Once we were at my parent’s house, we started getting ready to celebrate Easter. I had dropped off our Easter outfits before our trip so that we could change into our Easter best once we arrived. Next, Quincy did an Easter egg hunt, and got an Easter basket from her grandma and great grandma. Finally, we ate dinner together and enjoyed talking about our trip to Orlando.

When we finally got back to our house around 11:00 PM, we were exhausted, and we knocked out. Monday was our get back to normal day, so it wasn’t until Tuesday that Quincy got her Easter basket from mommy and daddy. Sometimes that is just how life goes. I could have been upset that we didn’t do Easter with her on Easter Sunday, but I reminded myself that she is a baby and will not realize the difference. Us moms gotta give ourselves a break!

Overall, we had a unique Easter which is fitting for how this pandemic year has been. Every holiday this year seems not to have been as expected, and this Easter was no exception. We did not expect to be traveling most of Easter and not being able to celebrate at our own home, but we did still get to see family and celebrate on Easter Sunday. I have to remind myself that Easter is about love, family, and the resurrection. The minor hiccups did not take away from those things. Happy Easter everyone! He is Risen!

Easter Basket for my 8 Month Old: Baby’s First Easter

Quincy’s fleece zip-up onesie and socks are from Carter’s. Her ears are from the Dollar Tree. The purple Easter basket was purchased at Hobby Lobby for 40% off about 1 week to a week and a half before Easter. Her blanket was an Easter gift from her Aunt from the Disney Baby collection. These pictures were taken with my I-phone in front of our apartment.

1. Bunny and Dinosaur Eggs (Dollar Tree) $1

2. Lamb Plush (Dollar Tree) $1

3. Peppa Pig Xylophone (TJ Maxx) $13

4. Stackable Cups (TJ Maxx) $8

5. Sophie La Giraffe Teether (Facebook Marketplace) $15

6. Peter Rabbit Book (Amazon) $4 https://amzn.to/3dJannA

7. Gerber Yogurt Melts (Target) $2.50

8. Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits (Target) $2.50

9. Happy Baby Puffs (Target) $3

10. Baby Girls’ 4 Pk Solid Bodysuit Carter’s (Target) $9

11. Tie Die Cat and Jack Skirt with Shorts (Target) $7

Total: $66

This basket was mostly needs mixed with a few fun extras. Quincy needed more snacks and clothes in her size, so those were necessities. Also, as an English Teacher, I think books are always a necessity, but this could also fit in the fun category. Another item in the middle between fun and a necessity is the Sophie La Giraffe because Quincy is teething and needs soothers/teething toys. However, the plush, xylophone, and stackable cups were for fun. Overall, Quincy already loves some of her new toys and has already eaten some of her snacks. This was a very successful Easter basket for an 8 month old. Happy Easter!

Packing for Disney World with an Infant

Planning a Disney World trip takes a lot of effort, but planning a Disney trip with your 8 month old is a whole other ball game. It begins typically with flights, hotels, park tickets, and transportation. Then, once you are the correct number of days out (during the pandemic 60 days), you get your dining reservations. Make sure you log-in to My Disney Experience at at the right time! I got the time difference wrong and was an hour late, so we didn’t get any dining reservations. They were already fully booked! Lastly, you would usually get your fast-passes (none currently during the pandemic). These steps can already be stressful, but it slowly spirals out of control once you start planning your packing.

Babies require so many items. You need a stroller, car seat, blankets, burp cloths, pacifiers, and on, and on, and on. I found my packing list getting longer and longer everyday. I would say, “Oh, wait! She needs this too!” Basically, all her baby needs are going to fill up my suitcase, so much for baby clothes being tiny. I find the fear of not being prepared and not having everything she needs being the most stressful. However, do not forget about yourself because I did and then I had to quickly shop for myself the week before the trip.

My husband and I went to Disney World in November without our little one. During that trip, we went to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Since there is now Park Hopping, we are going to do Magic Kingdom in the morning, and then park hopping to Epcot. I know that most people say to take 2 days in Magic Kingdom, but Magic Kingdom is extremely similar to Disneyland (which we live minutes from), so we are okay with skipping attractions.

In order to help you pack and prepare for your Disney World Trip, I will attach my packing list below. Use it to make your planning and packing a little less stressful. I will also write a follow up blog of necessary and unnecessary items after my trip. Happy planning and packing!
