Toothsome Chocolate Emporium Review

November 2020

First off, I love, love, loved the theming of the restaurant. The steam punk theme is awesome! I’m sad the characters couldn’t walk around due to Covid, but they were placed in an area up front to greet guests. I didn’t get a picture of them, and unfortunately they were gone when we left the restaurant. Second, the drinks were extremely strong, so my husband and I only drank the one. It took the entire dinner for us to finish them. We both got chocolate drinks because, duh, chocolate emporium. I got a martini and he got an old fashioned, both with a chocolate twist. We got the chocolate bread as an appetizer, and this was a fantastic choice! I just couldn’t stop eating it. We decided to both get hamburgers and both were delicious! We could only eat half and we didn’t get any of their fantastic looking milkshakes because we were stuffed! I would definitely go here again. It was a wonderful experience!

Animal Kingdom Food Reviews

November 2021

Our trip to Disney World was planned 2-3 weeks in advance, so all of the sit-down, table service restaurants were booked. Therefore, we decided we would just make the most of the quick-service and mobile order options. We started our morning by driving straight to Animal Kingdom. Once we entered the park, we went directly to Creature Comforts.

Animal Kingdom

Creature Comforts

This is a Starbucks inside animal kingdom. They did a good job of keeping patrons socially distanced. They have typical Starbucks drinks and food items. I got a pumpkin spice latte (I know… basic), and my husband and I both got bacon Gouda sandwiches. They were good like always. The one thing I didn’t like were the birds that were scavenging all around us. Some people were giving them food, and I am sure it happens all the time. DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS!!!! No one wants to be pestered by wild birds while drinking their latte. Especially not people afraid of birds, like me. Besides the birds, it was a pleasant typical Starbucks that had a safari theme. It was a great place to start the morning and get caffeinated.

Pongu Pongu

Next, we went to Pandora and rode Flight of Passage and Navii River. After those rides, we wanted a snack, so we stopped at Pongu Pongu.

Pongu Pongu

I loved my little snack stop in Pandora. I got the Pandora Lumpia and the Mo’ara Margarita. I have to admit that I preferred the margarita to the lumpia. I liked the popping boba and the flavors. Also, it just looked delicious and appealing. It was a perfect drink with the humidity. The lumpia was okay, and I probably wouldn’t get it again. I think it was the pineapple that threw me off because I loved the pastry outside and the cream cheese. Overall, definitely get the margarita! Delicious!

Mo’ara Drink and Lumpia

After Pandora, we went on Kilimanjaro Safaris and other fun attractions, like Expedition Everest. Finally, we worked up an appetite and got Flame Tree BBQ.

Flame Tree BBQ

I really enjoyed this meal. We had to use the mobile app and wait for our order to be ready before entering. We got our food and found a socially distanced table by the water. My husband and I both got the pulled pork sandwiches with onion rings. I got the cider drink with cinnamon whiskey that they had available- complete with a gummy worm. Our tip or trick is to ask for more BBQ sauce. We used all our sauce on our onion rings and did not have enough for our sandwiches. One other thing I didn’t like is the pesky birds trying to get food and bothering us. As mentioned above, I have a phobia of birds, so it was not ideal. I’m beginning to think pesky birds during meal time is just something you have to get used to in animal kingdom. Overall, loved the food, and need more and all the BBQ sauce!!!

After eating at Flame Tree BBQ, we went on Dinosaur. Then, we went on Navii River for the second time. As we were leaving for the night, we saw the Tree of Life light up with a Christmas light show. A great and beautiful end to a great and beautiful day!

Hollywood Studios Food Review

November 2020

Our trip to Disney World was planned 2-3 weeks in advance, so all of the sit-down, table service restaurants were booked. Therefore, we decided we would just make the most of the quick-service and mobile order options. In the morning, we had to wake up at 7:30 to get our Rise of the Resistance boarding groups, so we chose to get ready and get starbucks before going to the park. Our first snack of the day was at the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge.

Milk Stand

I am giving this a 3/5 only because I am a huge Star Wars fan! When it comes to actual taste, both the green and blue milks miss the mark. However, the blue milk was the clear winner of the two. My husband and I barely could finish the green milk. They both have a chalky taste to them. When it comes to looks and nostalgia 10/10, but when it comes to taste they lack luster. You need to get it once, but you probably don’t need to get it again.

After our blue and green milks, we rode Millenium Falcon and looked at a few shops. Then, it was time for lunch. We went to Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge.

Ronto Roasters

I was going in between a 3 and a 4, but decided on 4/5 because I don’t like hotdogs, but a lot of people do. If you can take something I don’t like and make it decent, that deserves an extra star. My husband and I added BBQ sauce to ours. It comes with the pita bread, slaw, roasted pork, and a hotdog of sorts. I say of sorts because it is better than your run of the mill hotdog. It is a grilled pork sausage. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the décor despite thinking the food was just decent. I would get this again even though hotdogs/sausage aren’t my favorite.

We continued our day with many rides and fun. Towards the nighttime/late afternoon, we got hungry again and stopped at BaseLine.

BaseLine Tap House

We stopped here at the end of the day for drinks and a snack. It rained while we were in line, so we had to wipe down the table and chairs with napkins. We shared the pretzel, I got a margarita, and my husband got an IPA. This was the perfect snack and break from walking. It came with cheese and mustard to dip the pretzel in. We waited in a socially distanced line and then ordered from a bar tender at a cash register. The margarita came from a tap, so that was a little disappointing, but it was still tasty. Overall, I would go here again, get the pretzel, and a try a different cocktail next time (they had one that glowed that I really wanted, but it wasn’t the margarita, unfortunately).

After this snack break, we rode a few more rides until the parked closed. For dinner, we ate a late night meal at the City Walk at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium.

Cafe Tu-Tu Tango Review

My husband and I are from California, and I picked this place because it said, on some of the Yelp pictures of the menu and online travel websites, that it had alligator bites. When we got there, they told us that it was off the menu. I was very disappointed. Besides this minor set back, we loved the food. We got a pizza, corn, tikka masala, and an Asian dish that I can’t remember the name. All were delicious. Our favorite was the corn. A must get. Our least favorite was the Asian dish which I can’t remember the name of. We were full after sharing all these dishes (like stuffed!). I got the Frida Kahlo mule drink and my husband got a margarita of sorts. Both were delicious, but we stayed a little sober for the time being and only had the one drink. We loved our drinks and our food! We liked the tapas style and the atmosphere of this place. We sat outside because It was covered and the night was not too cold (Florida weather). Overall, an awesome experience!!!

Coffee Nature Review

Costa Mesa, CA

March 5, 2021

I was extremely close to giving this location a 5/5, but decided on 4.5/5. The inside definitely lives up to it’s name of Coffee Nature. There is plenty of artificial plants, tropical decorations, and wood decor. Also, the baristas were very nice and informative. A major plus that I am learning from going to these unique coffee places is that this location offers non-fat milk. I purchased the Turmeric Latte. I am super into spiced lattes like this turmeric latte right now because they are reminiscent of a pumpkin spice latte. The only negatives were that my coffee didn’t have a foam design (I overheard the barista say it’s difficult with non-fat milk), and that it is very loud outside because of planes flying overhead to the airport. Once indoor seating is allowed again, I believe sitting inside would combat the loud planes. Also, the seating inside looks so fun and cute that it will be better than sitting outside. For now, there were 5 two seater tables outside. Last little tidbit of advice, the barista asked if I would like espresso. I replied with yes, but I was confused because I didn’t realize a latte couldn’t have espresso. Such a great experience. A great latte and a unique location. I will definitely be returning often!
